Windows In At Americana

Naturally, the Caruso “Americana at Brand” project is of great relevance to me as as Glendale is one of my areas of coverage for Sweet Digs. Equally relevant is the fact that next stop on the Caruso train will likely be the long-gestating and highly contentious “Shops at Santa Anita” right in my backyard here in Arcadia.
Americana’s 15.5 acres of behemoth mixed-use development is certainly quickly taking shape. When completed, it will transform downtown Glendale completely, adding 338 housing units in addition to 475,000 sq.ft of retail use. All of this lovingly butted against its existing mega-mall neighbor, Glendale Galleria (which wikipedia claims is second largest in LA county). Substitute with “Shops at Santa Anita” and Westfield, and you have a clear idea of Caruso’s plans for Arcadia. I’d love to hear what you Glendaliens out there think, or what effect this has already had on your experience in the city.
Americana at Brand is set to unleash all of its ‘luxurious hometown vibe’ on you, Spring 2008.
